December is traditionally our highest month of giving. Each year, we designate any gifts above our regular monthly budget toward a special purpose. This December, excess giving will be directed as follows:

  • 64% — Legacy Fund (long-term capital needs)

  • 16% — New Life Missionary Fund

  • 20% — Local & Global Mercy Partnerships

Our mercy partnerships include Christian Love Fellowship, which distributes food in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area; Amani ya Juu, a ministry providing dignifying work for widows in Africa; and the New Life Benevolence Fund, which helps those in our congregation who are struggling financially.

In the past, ten percent of our excess giving has gone to the general fund reserve. This year, in light of increased needs, that portion will instead go toward the Benevolence Fund.
