Hello Church,

Yesterday marked Pentecost Sunday, which celebrates when the Holy Spirit first came upon believers in Jerusalem, as described in Acts 2. As we consider the generosity of God in our current sermon series, I invite you today to consider the generosity of God in giving us the Holy Spirit. When Jesus left the earth, He did not leave us as orphans, but gave us the Spirit as a counselor and advocate to teach and remind us of truth (John 14:16-26). And the Holy Spirit seals us as God's own, as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14). The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead now lives within us (Romans 8:11). God is generous indeed!! We are not alone. We are guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit!
