Hey Church,
Graig kicked off Mission Weeks yesterday at church. Twice a year we spend time in our service focusing on what it means to be sent by Jesus into the ordinary places of our lives: our homes, our workplaces, our schools, our neighborhoods. Jesus has sent us on a mission to make disciples wherever we are.
As a tangible next step, I want to invite you into something simple but meaningful. In our map room (right by the coffee), you'll find maps of our campus and the greater Ann Arbor area. Each year, we take down last year's stickers and invite the whole church to place new ones, a green sticker, initialed, marking where you are living sent this year.
If you did this last year, I'm asking you to do it again. Not because anything's changed, but because our commitment to live sent isn't something we decide once. It's something we keep choosing, year after year.
If you're a student, use the campus map. If you live or work in the city, use the Ann Arbor Area map. And if your exact location isn't shown, just place your sticker near the edge, in the direction of where you live.
I'd love for every one of us to participate over the next two services. Someone will be at the maps each week to help guide you. Take a moment. Pray for the four or so neighbors that the Lord has placed on your heart, then place your sticker as a visible sign of your commitment to live sent, together with the rest of this church.
With you in this,
Rick, on Behalf of the Elder and Minister Team
