Dear Church,
Have you ever had a verse just get stuck in your head?
I came across Psalm 112:7 earlier this week and God’s thoroughly captured my attention. The context of Psalm 112 is presented in verse 1:
“Praise the Lord.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord…”
And then in verse 7:
“He will have no fear of bad news;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
Just think on that for a moment. “He will have no fear of bad news.”
We are drenched in bad news, but this is what God wants for us. Instead of looking at the bad news with fear because the problems are so beyond us, we can swiftly hand that news to God and trust Him with it.
I wish it weren’t true, but this verse is going to be relevant for you and me this week, whether the bad news that comes our way is tiny or massive. May you lean into this powerful truth. Blessed is the one who fears the Lord!
