Dear Church,

I have no profound insight to offer you this week… no poetry either! Today I just want to share how grateful I am to be a companion with you along the road as we continue our pilgrimage toward greater Christlikeness. Pastors are known to take many tones with their congregations. We are always instructing or casting vision or preaching or organizing or mobilizing, but it is good to just stop and say thank you. Thank you for the ways you challenge and encourage me. Thank you for the many ways you show me what it means to serve and love others like Jesus. Thank you for modeling sacrificial generosity. Thank you for your courage to use your spiritual gifts. Thank you for showing up… not just at services and at home groups but in countless other ways for me and for one another. I absolutely speak for our leadership team when I say, it is such a gift to be on this journey with you. I would not be the same if not for you, and this church would not be the same if not for you.
