Dear Church,

August is often a busy and transitional time of year for many of us. As you go about dealing with the fervor that may be your daily life, I want to encourage you to remember that your presence is more important than your production. God has hand crafted you to fit into His world in a way that no one else does. That means that you have spaces and opportunities where your presence is intended to make a God-empowered difference in the lives of those around you.

At New Life, you'll hear us say "live sent." Living sent is missional living. It's about being intentional in the way we make our moment by moment choices to proclaim Jesus through how we live. If you're like me, that sounds intimidating at times, but don't be afraid. It's not about our skill, but about God's power.

As this new season of life starts all around you, look for those moments when you can welcome someone into a new space. That could be the church lobby, a classroom, a workplace, a dorm, or a neighborhood. More than ever, people are looking for meaningful, authentic community. Your presence makes a real and true difference in the lives of those around you, so go ahead and take up the space God's given you.

Have a terrific week!
