Hello Church,

We are in the days on a yearly calendar where we are beginning to have to face the fact that summer won’t last forever. For some this is great, as the fall offers their favorite things of the year. For some it means that life is about to get really busy. I tend to be in this later group that sees life about to get very full. As I anticipate this, I’m looking to try to maintain some of the pace and margin that summer can offer.

In our worship services during the last couple of weeks, we have been considering prayer. I think prayer can be a doorway to what I’m hoping to take from the summer into the fall, in terms of pace of life. Prayer affords us the chance to enter into communion with God and His presence brings peace. Prayer allows us a tangible way to hand our burdens to God and invite Him to carry them for us. I’m curious to see how the pace of life in fall I often experience will be impacted by a focus on growing my time in conversation with God. The opportunity we have to be in God’s presence is a gift, and our hope for the church as we enter the fall, is that there will be a deepening of our relationships with God through a posture of prayer.

Looking forward to what God has for us,
