Good Morning, Church!
I was challenged recently when one of our church staff interns, Emily, shared that she felt encouraged by God to "look up." Look up to Jesus above our circumstances. Look up to Jesus when our expectations are not met. Look up when we feel confused or unsure.
I am reminded of 2 Chronicles 20:12, which says, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” Obviously, feelings of uncertainty can strike at any moment, but I find that the times of transition, like the beginning of a new school year, can have a lot of moments of "I do not know what to do." The Israelites in the passage were faced with a vast army they had no power to subdue. They did not know what to do, but their eyes were on God. Can we emulate their faith? Maybe we can pray, "Lord, what are YOU doing that we join you in?" or "Lord, I am willing to wait for your direction on what to do" or "Lord, help me to fix my eyes upon you as I take this step of faith."
Let's look up together this week!
With you on the journey,
