Hello Church,
As we wrap up our series on generosity, I hope one truth has settled a little deeper: generosity isn’t primarily about what God wants from us, but what He wants for us. Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive, and most of us have felt that. Whether through time, resources, encouragement, or hospitality, generosity is one of God’s gifts to us, a doorway into a fuller life with Him.
Summer is almost here. School is ending, schedules are shifting, and many of us will find ourselves in conversations and spaces we don’t usually occupy — neighbors we rarely see, family we haven’t spent real time with, friendships waiting to go deeper. These aren’t interruptions to life with God. They may be exactly where He’s working.
A friend recently told me his daughter starts each morning with a simple prayer: “God, surprise me today.” That’s our invitation this summer. May we wake up with open eyes and expectant hearts, asking God to meet us in the ordinary, the unexpected, and the unhurried. He’s already at work around us. Let’s not miss it.
Lord, surprise us this summer with Your goodness, and help us join You wherever You are at work.
